The Immense Power of Being God’s Vessel of Kindness

Proverbs 19:22 "What is desired in a man is [a]kindness, And a poor man is better than a liar."

Here is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just think about them. Read straight through, and you'll understand the point.

• Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

• Name the last five Heisman Trophy winners.

• Name the last five Miss America winners.

• Name ten people who have won a Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

• Name the last six Academy Award winners for Best Actor and Best Actress.

• Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do? The point is, most of us don't remember the headliners of yesterday. These are not second-rate achievers; they are the best in their fields. But the applause fades. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Now, here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

• List a few teachers who helped you through school.

• Name three friends who helped you through a difficult time.

• Name five people who taught you something worthwhile.

• Think of a few people who made you feel appreciated and special.

• Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier, right? The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones who care the most.

Kindness is the directed love we give to another. Never think you aren’t important; everyone needs to be loved more!  God has given you the power to bring His blessing to others in specific ways that no one else on earth can.  This is why Scripture says, “What is desired in a man is kindness,” – God-inspired kindness directed to them!  Impressing people does nothing good for people; being kind to others brings the profound blessing and help of God to them. God has given His grace to you for others. “

“…God’s grace that was given to me for you.“  Ephesians 3:2
